Hi.
I have been using Moneydance happily since 2008! I usually use my iMac but have just bought a new MacBook Pro. I would like to copy my Moneydance file to my Synology NAS so I can use it on both the iMac & the MB Pro. So, my questions are:
1. Can it be done on the NAS? &
2. Would I need to buy another Moneydance license for the new laptop?

I would appreciate your advices.

Kind regards

    just a user

I've read in these forums that using an NAS is not recommended due to potential data corruption issues.

Moneydance does have a synchronization concept (using Dropbox) so that multiple computers and IOS devices can all work together on the same data. [The version of MD you use can be significant here]

As long as this is for personal use, you would not need another license.

    Hope that helps.

    I'm a fellow user.

If you have two computers running desktop class operating systems and you do not want syncing with mobile devices then you should be able to use the NAS system for the syncing data by using the Shared folder option within the Moneydance syncing system.

Do not place data files on any form of shared storage, data files should all be on local storage.
