Recovering from Big Sur glitch with Moneydance
I recently updated my Mac to Big Sur. Every app I have used so far seems to be working like a dream, except I found a glitch with Moneydance. Recent entries and some reconciliations had disappeared. I recovered these by downloading my finance data from my bank in qif form and imported them again. I then set about going through the reconciliations which has taken 3 days.
Now I discover that syncing is off and I cannot turn it on again. There seems to be no way even though my app on my iPhone tells me to start Moneydance on my desktop and "add the Network Synchroniser extension". I could not find any such beast. My desktop accounts are now in order but I cannot sync to my mobile devices.
I am using Moneydance 2021 (2006).
Any ideas

You do not need Network Sync Extension. This is old guidance and it's now built into moneydance.
Sounds like you have restored your dataset. Did you do this when you set up your Mac upgrade? This makes it think it's a secondary copy. If you are sure this is now your primary and you have restored.. Then you can run this script... attached.
BACKUP FIRST!
If not, stop and advise...

Thanks Stuart. I will try this today. Yes, I did restore the dataset. And, yes, I will back up first.

I have Python 3.9 loaded. I ran the script in terminal and received this response:
glindsay@Cracticus ~ % cd '' && '/usr/local/bin/python3' '/Users/glindsay/Documents/Moneydance BAK/now_toolbox_-_FIX_-_convert_secondary_to_primary_data_set.py' && echo Exit status: $? && exit 1
File "/Users/glindsay/Documents/Moneydance BAK/now_toolbox_-_FIX_-_convert_secondary_to_primary_data_set.py", line 10
print "The Moneydance app controller: %s"%(moneydance)
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

You need to run this within Moneydance.
Menu/Window/Moneybot Console
Open, select the file
Click run (not run snippet)
Also check you’ve downloaded the file correctly. Right click the on the link and select (something like) download link...
