Syncing Failed on Android App
I've been using the desktop app along with mobile the app for about a month now and have liked i. However today the mobile app crashed and wouldn't restart, I cleared the cache and was able to open the app but needed to re-sync through dropbox. I connected the app to dropbox and entered my encryption key, but the sync failed. The same thing happened on my wife's phone, the app crashed and won't sync with the file in dropbox.
Now, some background. We were both out together and I tried to enter a transaction on my phone. It crashed and she attempted to enter the transaction on her phone and as mentioned above it too crashed. Now when we got home I noticed my PC was still had the Moneydance App open, and must have been open when we tried entering the transaction on our phones. Did this cause the app to crash or was this just a coincidence? I don't know but maybe that is relevant information to help fix my problem.
I have moneydance installed on two PCs (linux, fwiw) and am able to get the two PCs to sync through dropbox.
What do I need to do to get our phones to sync properly again?

Hi Patrick
I think it is unlikely that the fact that your computer was on and running Moneydance had any effect. I regularly have a number of phones and computers running Moneydance with no ill effect.
Also if your computers are still syncing that rules out a number of issues, What sync method are you using on the computers, Dropbox Folder or Dropbox Connection?
My set up is two windows 10 computers, a Linux computer and two Android phones.
The Linux computer has three distributions Ubuntu, Mint and Feren OS. Each run Moneydance.
Some things to look at.
If for some reason the mobile app becomes disconnected from Dropbox you will find that on opening the mobile app it reports NO FOLDERS FOUND. Sign into your Dropbox account in the cloud and check Moneydance is a connected app. The only way to re-establish access is to uninstall the Mobile app and reinstall. Part of the install process take you to Dropbox and asks you to sign in and go through the process to allowing the Moneydance API to connect.
A small number of users with Android phones have had issues but these have namely been users with new phones or updated Android operating systems.
These uses fix the problem by installing the latest Moneydance Android app which is a beta release. My older phone cant run the beta, but my newer phone is running the beta with the slightly improved user interface.
Note you must be running at least Android 7.1.1.
To install:
1. Use the Play Store app to find Moneydance.
2. Click on the Moneydance icon to show the description of Moneydance.
3. Scroll to the very bottom of the description and you should see
Join the beta
Try new features before they’re
officially released and give your
feedback to the developer.
Join Learn more
4. Click on Join and in the window that appears click JOIN.
5. The screen now reads
Joining beta...
Adding your account to the
Program. It may take a few minutes.
6. Wait 2 minutes, then use the back key and click on the Moneydance icon again.
7. The heading should now read Moneydance (Beta). Assuming it does click Install. If it does not go back to step 6.
8. Once installed, start Moneydance app.
9. The initial sync may take some time and the balances listed on the account page may be all zeros. Close the App and also the its background instance and then open the app again, balances should be OK from then on.
The reason the initial sync takes a long time is unlike the current version the beta is syncing all Moneydance data as a prelude to expanding the mobile apps functions in a later build.
Let use know how you get on.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! That seemd to fix my problems.
I've been enjoying my use of moneydance so I am pleased that I'm able to continue using it.
