Changing location of Dropbox folder for syncing
I moved my local Dropbox folder to an external drive. However the sync folder for Dropbox still shows the old location. I can't figure out how to change that and now I cannot select a sync method. It's stuck on Dropbox folder, which would be fine if I can just change the location.
I have disconnected Moneydance on my phone from Dropbox.
Thanks.

If the sync method is greyed out and non changeable then this normally means it’s a secondary node (ie the master was created elsewhere). You can fix this with the toolbox extension. It will advise when you launch how to change this setting.

Thanks for your help.
I figured that part out. Now just need to know how to change the location of the syncing folder.
Thanks.

Hi David.
As far as I know for the Sync Method Dropbox Folder to work the local Dropbox Folder MUST be in the default location. If you move it you will need to use the sync method Shared Folder.
Hope this helps

To put it another way, when you set up syncing in Moneydance, if there is a Dropbox folder in the default location then you will see an option for Dropbox Folder, if the folder is not in the default location then you do not get this option and it is necessary to use the Shared folder option and navigate to the location of the Dropbox folder if Dropbox is the method you wish to use.
As far as I know in the Moneydance Data Set the software will store a pointer to where the folder ls located, irrespective of which of these two methods you use. This is so Moneydance knows where to read and write the data to/from.
You move the folder location Moneydance no longer knows where it is. There is no ability in Moneydance to edit the pointer, the only way is to re-create the syncing relationship, as this is when the pointer gets created.
