New version of app doesn't sync
Moneydance app on my android phone (Pixel 3a) got updated lately. When I opened it the first time after update, it started an initial sync and that thing never ended. After about 12 hours I stopped the app, deleted all data and started it again. Again, hours spent on initial sync. This time, I get all my accounts, but sums are all wrong (obviously, not all data was synced), now it stuck in "Syncing updates" process.
Is it a normal behavior? I can't use the app for the last 3 days.

The reason Moneydance Android apps build 76 takes a long time to do an initially sync, a understatement in some cases, is, unlike the older version which only receive Bank type data build 76 gets all data as a prelude to expanding the features in the mobile app. Also 76 displays all bank type transactions, same as on the computer, back to when each account was opened. 1.15 only displays back 1 year. All in all, a lot of data.
My Android is syncing without issues on build 76 but I think this is due to the fact I was running a beta and all my data had already been synced to my phone before the update to 76
The situation is made far worse if you have not reset Moneydance sync lately, a lot of small files to sync.
Sean the Moneydance developer is aware and working on a fix to speed things up. In the meantime, I think you need to reset syncing to start anew.

To provide specific advice can you list the devices in your system with there operating systems, the version/build of Moneydance they are running, e.g. 2021.1(3069), see under HELP - ABOUT MONDANCE and the Moneydance sync method you are using, Dropbox Folder or Dropbox Connection

I cannot get the new Android version to sync on my Samsung phone. I have tried everything I can think of. I upgraded my Windows desktop version to the latest MD, deleted the old archives on Dropbox, restored MD from backup then ran the script recommended in another thread, and uninstalled/reinstalled the Android app numerous times. It says it is syncing, but then comes up with nothing but an account called "Finances" with zero balance. After running the script I can now select sync methods, but it was already set to Dropbox connection.

From what I can gather... this problem is related to lots of txn files. I think the resolution is to rebuild sync from scratch, which will give you a new consolidated dataset in DB. In simple terms.
Backup every copy of MD
Disable sync everywhere
In Dropbox, rename the hidden folder called .moneydancesync - wait for this change to sync.
Reenable sync on your master. Wait
Reenable sync on android. Select the new dataset

Thank you Stuart. After I posted, I set my phone down for half an hour. The app didn't appear to be making any further attempt to sync. But when I picked it up and looked, it was now showing my accounts properly. The only glitch remaining is that there is now an account listed called "Finances", with zero balance. I don't know what that is. If I have further problems I will try going through your instructions.

.... as Sean said earlier somewhere.... wait for sync to complete...... perhaps the app should tell the user what it’s actually doing so you can see movement.....
