Is there a way to sync devices (windows, Mac, iPhone) that do not use Dropbox? iCloud perhaps or via specific local folder synchronized by other means?

iPhone sync need to be included in whatever alternative is provided. I know that between computers a synchronized path works out.

With iOS Dropbox is your only choice.

Without iOS, then you can select shared folders and these can be on whatever cloud platform (or shared drive/location) you set (but excludes iOS)..

A free Dropbox account is sufficient for Moneydance.

Mobile devices do not consume Dropbox licenses since no client needs to be installed, or indeed can be used by Moneydance on the platform.

On desktop/notebook systems it is your choice as to whether Dropbox client is installed, and consumes a license, or if it is not installed and thus no license is used.

The Moneydance solution spans 5 different operating systems and Dropbox is one of the few systems that supports all 5.

In the latest MD desktop version a sync method using iCloud has been introduced. Will the MD mobile version be able to sync using this channel? And therefore cut out Dropbox?

    Hello,

That is our goal eventually. However, I cannot speculate on when that function will be released for all devices. Dropbox is the only option for syncing between desktop and mobile devices for the foreseeable future.
