Continuous data trafic when Moneydance launched
Hi there
I have syncing enabled (to Dropbox) to allow syncing with the Moneydance app on my phone.
Using Glasswire network monitor I can see that there is a surprisingly high level of continuous internet traffic from Moneydance Syncing with Dropbox.
I would have assumed that syncing would only occur if there was a data entry? And that it would be a very small amount of traffic?
Is something wrong here? (See attached files)
Curious for feedback

Hi Nick,
Can't honestly say if you have a problem or not, but you asked for feedback! To be honest I think your 24 hour scan is too coarse to be of value. So I have attached a 5 min screen grab of my Glasswire. As far as I can tell, mine seems to communicating with Dropbox once a minute, the traffic shown would be what I would expect. So see if your 5 min grab is much different from mine
I don't leave MD running all the time, but I do sync via Dropbox Connection.

Syncing is not a one way activity so Moneydance has to routinely look for activity that may have occurred on other machines.
To do this it has to regularly poll the shared location to determine if there are any new files is needs to download and apply to the local data set.

Hi Jeff
The 5 min scan shows a similar data rate to you.
I was just surprised at the level of traffic to and from moneydance compared to other applications—especially given as there should not be much data to transfer.

I suspect dropbox folders has a lot less traffic than Dropbox connection.....?
