Moneydance iCloud Syncing
Is anyone using iCloud Syncing successfully in MD 2022.1 (4058)? I selected it in Syncing, it showed it acts like it is writing a sync file when I quit out of MD, but I don't see a sync file on my iCloud drive nor do I see an iCloud option in my MD app. It never had me sign into my iCloud account like I did using Dropbox. Is there a new version of the app I need to get? How do you use this feature?

The app cannot yet use iCloud sync. 😞

Thanks for that update. Shouldn't I be able to see a md sync file in iCloud even though I can't sync it to anything yet?

It’s hidden. Toolbox. Top title bar. Open md folder. iCloud sync. It will tell you the folder to open manually. Go to terminal and ‘open’ the location.

The path returned from Toolbox shows a permissions issue. See attached.

When I put that path into Terminal, it says No such file or directory.

I've just improved Toolbox to open this folder for you... Download latest from here:
https://github.com/yogi1967/MoneydancePythonScripts/raw/master/tool...
Unzip.. Double click the enclosed toolbox.mxt, ignore signing warnings. Run toolbox. Try Open MD Folder again...

PS - the Terminal command you needed was:
open "paste_the_whole_path_between_quotes"

That worked! Thanks, @Stuart. One question, I have two different MD datasets syncing to my iCloud so they will be stored in the same sync folder. Can I assume, that once the app is functional, it will sync with the matching dataset?

each dataset has a looooooooog number... It will store it's sync in it's own number.... Ditto when syncing from sync

What is the best way to switch from syncing with Dropbox to iCloud syncing? I am just fearful that if I stop syncing with Dropbox that something will get lost in the transition. If anyone has any suggestions they are appreciated.

Just click don’t sync. Then select iCloud sync. It will switch properly.
