Can't change passphrase

I have tried a method I see online (change sync method to DON'T SYNC) but even still, I can't change the passphase.

Please advise.

   You can’t. Once set that’s it. Unless you delete your sync and start sync afresh.

   That’s the thing… I am trying to shut down the sync and start again but I
   am missing something

   What would the steps be?

   Set syncing to don’t sync.
   Then install/run toolbox extension. Options hacker mode then hacker mode button. Then force reset sync settings.
   Then start again.

   It sounds like the syncing has either not been properly reset or more often we see this is the data set is a secondary one.

   Stuart's tool should reset the syncing. Originally this was achieved by a script but it has been incorporated into Toolbox. Hacker mode is probably a bit of a misnomer, at least in this case. Having to do this is not an everyday routine type of activity.but is necessary on occasions. The total implication of the word "hacker" is not really what is intended but is is intended that tools at this level are something that should be used with caution and the tool reinforces this by giving warnings and asking you create a backup etc.

   I am considering changing advanced mode to update mode and hacker mode to advanced mode. But hey, we all like hacking!!
