Dropbox syncing error
Moneydance 2022.2 when using the File Syncing menu option Moneydance hangs. The Syncing menu item remains highlighted, but nothing else happens.
Previously Moneydance was connected using dropbox but a new version of andriod prevented it being used.
With this new version on Moneydance I thought I'd try again.

Hi Andrew,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
Firstly you should download and install Moneydance 2022.3 (4062). This is now available to download from this page.
Then please try following the steps below:
From your computer: Launch Moneydance and navigate to File->Syncing
Choose Don't Sync and close Moneydance.
From your phone: Launch the mobile app and select Settings->Syncing via Dropbox->Disconnect.
Launch Moneydance again on your computer and open the file you wish to sync.
Navigate to File->Syncing and choose Dropbox Folder
Click on Show Passphrase and take note of it. (You will need to enter the same later, on the mobile app)
Launch the mobile app and choose the same file as your computer.
Enter your Password to match the Passphrase on your computer.
Finally, enter a "dummy"" transaction on each device and allow a few seconds for them to sync. They should display exactly the same transactions.

I have downloaded and installed 2022.3 version, but I’m still getting the same problem with Moneydance hanging, never get to Syncing options.
I can’t close Moneydance ,except by ending via Task Manager.

Install Dropbox client locally and check that loads Ok and is logged in. Only proceed once that’s working.
Launch md
Install toolbox extension. Hacker mode. Hacker menu. Force reset sync settings. Restart MD.
Now try setting MD/File/Sync to Dropbox folders

I'm a fellow user.
Is the Sync Setting dialog box appearing, when you select the syncing option from the menu?

1) When Moneydance appears to freeze try Alt –> Spacebar –> M and use the arrow keys, to see if you can move a missing dialog back on screen. This can happen if at some point you have connected a second monitor.

2) Would you be able to send us a copy of your Moneydance error logs, the logs should include information on what might be causing the issue.
They are saved on your computer as an errlog.txt file. You need to navigate to: Local Disk(C:)>Users>Your Name>.moneydance
Finally you can copy the full content into your next reply here

Hi Maddy, can't find a dialog open behind or off the screen. I've attached the errlog.txt file.

@Stuart Beesley, I've followed your instruction to force reset sync setting and I've got a dialogue that gives me the option to sync now. Many thanks. I'm going to set-up a new file to use as a test syncing to Dropbox, I'll let you know.
