Syncing issues after restoring from backup
I had to restore my main file from backup. I now need to sync it and I use a dropbox connection. I understand that the backup is not considered the primary file, so it needs to be converted using a python script (I found it somewhere in the forums). The problem is that when I go to open the "Show MoneyBot Console," MD crashes and I am not able to load the script. I have had to do this before, and I never had any crashes. The only thing I did differently this time is that I renamed the backup file after it was restored. The file can read and works fine locally.
Currently, syncing is OFF, and I even tried removing the dropbox connection folder directly from Dropbox as whatever was there is out of date anyway.
Is there an alternate way of making this file the primary set to sync?

I'm a fellow user.
The standalone script has largely been replaced by the capabilities built into the Toolbox extension.
Use the Menu option Extensions --> Manage Extensions to install the Toolbox.
Once installed I would restart Moneydance.
Then use the Extensions menu option to start Toolbox. Toolbox can take a few seconds to start.
Once started enable Advanced mode, this is under Toolbox Options, take a backup now if you have not already done so.
Now if the current data set is marked as a secondary data set you should have an additional button to "Make me a primary dataset" choosing this should reset the data set.

I am pretty sure it is not a primary data set as it never is when I used to restore from a backup. It also doesn’t let me choose the sync passphrase of course. So, I have installed Toolbox and enabled Advanced Mode. However, I do not see the additional button to "Make me a primary dataset." Perhaps I am missing its location.

I checked under each of these, and I thought it might be under “general tools” but I can’t seem to find it.
I did go into “Hacker Mode” and found something to reset the sync settings:
However, while everything ran through, nothing changed. I can still “dropbox connection” but not the passphrase and my other devices can’t access the file.
If I am missing something please feel free to point it out, I am not sure how to proceed from here.

Just an update.
Since the current version crashes with the console is open I did the following:
1. Downgraded to 2021.1,
2. Ran the script to convert from secondary to primary, and
3. Updated again (though I probably should have left it there).
It all seems to be working and syncing now.
