Error uploading outgoing transactions: com.dropbox.core.NetworkIOException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
Hi All,
As of about 13 April, I have issues syncing my Moneydance (Windows) with Dropbox and then onto my Android device. This is looks to be an issue in both directions.
Looking at the console, I'm getting the following error:
Error uploading outgoing transactions: com.dropbox.core.NetworkIOException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
com.dropbox.core.NetworkIOException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
<snip>
Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
<snip>
iksync: retrieving and re-encrypting txn file: bea2b067-9185-4426-bc85-9dad2abafbbe.mdtxn
error retrieving txn files: com.dropbox.core.NetworkIOException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
and so on.
Currently running Moneydance 2017.10. Any way to resolve without having to upgrade my software?
Cheers,
Mark B.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
I've checked our records using your email address and I can confirm that your license is valid for use with Moneydance 2017, Moneydance 2019 and Moneydance 2020.
If you wish to upgrade to Moneydance 2020.2 (1929) for free, you can download it here.
Alternatively, if you would prefer upgrading to Moneydance 2022, you can enter your current license key into the 'Upgrading?' box on this page to redeem a 50% discount. After purchasing, you'll be sent a new license key via email.
Also, unfortunately there was an update to Dropbox that interfered with the syncing process for Android devices. We have fixed the issue, and released a new version 2022.1 on 18 April 2022. .
You should simply uninstall your Moneydance mobile app, re-install the app and restart your phone.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
