sync with iCloud
Is there a comprehensive description on syncing using iCloud. All I can find chats that describe a procedure that is then modified by a reference to another procedure.
How do I setup an account and verify that is in iCloud.
How do I sync to to that file on a different device.
How do I verify that the whole process is working correctly.

Hi Peter,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
iCloud Drive is Mac specific, as outlined in our blog and also in this article of the Knowledge base.
You need to ensure that:
Launch Moneydance and take a manual back up of the file you consider to be the most up-to date. Save it to e.g.your desktop - just in case!
On the primary computer navigate to File->Syncing and choose iCloud Drive
- Set or take note of your existing "Passphrase".
On the secondary computer
Navigate to File->New->Open synced file.
Or from the Welcome to Moneydance window, choose Create a new account set and select Open Synced File
Choose the same sync method as the primary computer - iCloud Drive
Enter the same Passphrase to match the primary computer.

This procedure does not work.
1) the passphrase says it is for dropbox, I can’t change it.
2) on the second computer when I sync the file is really messed up. Nothing like the original file. No data older than 4 months. None of the numbers match, The fields are all screwed up. Some entries show up in both Payments and Deposit columns
Its a mess.
Has anybody used this procedure successfully?
Also the MD version you reference, 4072, is not a “stable” version but I used it anyway.

4073 is out. It’s just a bug fixed version. It is stable and fine to use.
You should reset sync and start again
Backup first. Then on primary.
Run toolbox extension. Enable hacker mode. Click hacker button. Select force reset sync. Restart MD.
Now follow procedure above

I am now using 2022.3(4077)
I could not find hacker mode or a force reset. Where are these?
I just tried toolbox and got a STOP-NOW notification. What now?
I did try sync with the latest version but got only the first MD page which seems to be the latest info.

You need to download the latest toolbox. Manage extensions, find toolbox, update.
Toolbox options/Menus have been renamed.
You should reset sync and start again
Backup first. Then on primary.
Run toolbox extension. Enable advanced mode. Click advanced button. Select force reset sync. Restart MD.

I get a note:
The developer has put a stop order on Toolbox.
And here I thought that I was almost there. I did mention this in my last note.
What now???

All you need to do is update toolbox from the manage extensions menu. Ok?

Upgrading to the latest preview version should hopefully fix the problem for you.
Moneydance 2022.4 (4078) is now available to download from this page.
Then, you should launch Moneydance and navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions. The current Toolbox is version 1047.

All the pieces fell into place.
My sync with iCloud is working on my two computers.
