Dont Sync Activated
My moneydance programme has stopped syncing and when i have gone to File > Syncing it says:
Sync Method: Don't Sync - how can i change this
This happened when i turned off my mac

What version/build?
Have you recently restored anything?
Is this a master/primary dataset? If you run toolbox extension, it will tell you if it’s a secondary when you launch toolbox.
If not, where is the primary.
What do you want syncing to what. What do you think was setup before?

Not recent restored anything
Not sure on any of the extensions questions
I have always had a sync to my iPhone which has worked for years.

Ok. Your version is too old for toolbox to help. The one trick you can try is as follows. File/export backup (remember name). Then file/restore from backup. This will reset sync. Then reenable sync from scratch (including phone).

OK, I can't actually test 2017 as it crashes on my Mac (version too old)..... But I have knocked up a script to fix... It works on 2019, and should work on 2017.. It won't do any harm (it will either fix the issue or it won't)....
download and save these Python script files to your computer...
Window/Show Moneybot console
Open Script. Select the file and OK.
Then RUN (not run snippet)... Watch the console output below..
Please run the show_sync_settings.py first and copy/save the output...
Then run the reset_sync_settings.py.. again copy/save the output...
restart MD
Now try syncing......
Out of interest, post the outputs here..... (so I can see what the issue was).
Let me know if it works?
It might be worth upgrading too...

I can’t download the fox as it’s a work computer and won’t let me.

FYI. If you are using 2017 with Dropbox Connection and if you are seeing :
in Help/Show Console, then it's because Dropbox have cut off the connection for the old SKD/Protocol being used. There are two solutions:
1. Upgrade MD (best option)
2. Switch to Dropbox Folders in Mondeydance/File/Syncing.
