Syncing isn't working from Android device to Mac

I've been having a problem with syncing over the past several weeks where changes on my Android device don't get synced to my Mac, but it does sync the other direction.
So far, I've deleted the connection to dropbox from my Android, deleted app, reconnected app on Android. Still the same problem.
Any solutions that are possible?

On Android, you need the new App (just released).

If you are using 2017 with Dropbox Connection and if you are seeing :

Error writing current state: com.dropbox.core.NetworkIOException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
    com.dropbox.core.NetworkIOException: Received fatal alert: protocol_version
        at com.dropbox.core.v2.DbxRawClientV2.uploadStyle(DbxRawClientV2.java:243)

in Help/Show Console, then it's because Dropbox have cut off the connection for the old SKD/Protocol being used. There are two solutions:
    1. Upgrade MD (best option)
    2. Switch to Dropbox Folders in Mondeydance/File/Syncing.

    Hi Tom,

We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

Unfortunately there was an update to Dropbox that interfered with the syncing process for Android devices. We have fixed the issue, and released a new version 2022.1 on 18 April 2022. .
You should simply uninstall your Moneydance mobile app, re-install the app and restart your phone.

Also, since your license key is valid with Moneydance 2017, Moneydance 2019 and Moneydance 2020.
You could upgrade to Moneydance 2020.2 (1929). This version is available here.

Alternatively, if you would prefer upgrading to Moneydance 2022, you can enter your current license key into the 'Upgrading?' box on this page to redeem a 50% discount. After purchasing, you'll be sent a new license key via email.

Finally, I completely agree with Stuart's suggestion in post 1, as using Dropbox Folder as a sync method not only is a good idea in this specific scenario but it is particularly recommend when syncing with the mobile app.

In fact, with "Dropbox Folder" Moneydance will just read and write files to your Dropbox folder on your computer, which means that that although you need to have Dropbox installed and running, you don't need to be online in order for Moneydance to read and write the changes.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

This is a continuation of a problem I've had with syncing since April.

    - Upon your recommendation I updated my software version to 2022.3(4077)

    - I kept using the Dropbox Connection option thinking that the new version
would solve the problem. It didn't - I still have places where changes made
on the mobile app don't make it to the Mac laptop.

-I thought I would change to the Dropbox Folders choice for syncing as you
recommended, and that option doesn't even show up on my current software,
and there is not clear help on what to do.

    - What do you recommend? Are you suggesting the shared folder option? Or is
it easy to set up a shared folder on icloud?
    Thanks for your help.

Have you also installed the Dropbox app. If that’s not installed, then you can’t use Dropbox folders.

To be honest I would blow away your sync data and start sync again afresh. If you want to do this, shout?

Yes, that's what I'm thinking I'd do, start from scratch.

Toolbox extension. Enable advanced mode. Advanced Mode. Force Reset Sync Settings... Restart MD... Setup Sync again...

On the Android device, disconnect from dropbox in the iOS app, restart phone. Reconnect dropbox, select the new sync folder just created..

Thanks for your help. It looks like that has taken care of it so far.
