It would be nice if you could set up a sync with another person/computer that allowed them to update their file but not update yours.

    Hi,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

You are correct in saying that there’s no option to have the file be synced as ‘read only’. If it’s synced, you’ll be able to make changes to the file.

That being said, I've filed a ticket in our ticketing system with your suggestion, so the developers will be looking into it. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee this suggestion will be implemented. We will post to this thread when/if there are any updates regarding this topic.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

I can't see any way that this would ever work (properly)... Example.

Master User.... Creates TXN for FOOD £10.
    this syncs to secondary
Secondary user updates their copy. Changes food to £20
    this does not sync back
Master users decides to change Description to "Food Baked beans"..
This syncs the whole record, including the old price of £10 over to secondary.
Secondary user now sees "Food Baked beans" £10 and has lost their change to £20.

    What scenario were you thinking?
