Dropbox: Can't sync with

Hi.
Can anyone please help with a problem getting Moneydance v.2021.1 (3069) to sync with Dropbox?
I should explain that last year I bought an Amazon 10”-plus Fire tablet, and yes I know they are not proper licensed Android, but Moneydance and Dropbox are both listed in the Amazon Fire app store.
At the time, I did the install and sync as shown in the Moneydance guide, and it worked a treat. But I didn’t access Moneydance on the Fire again until now, and now it won’t sync.
I also have Dropbox on the Fire and the latest Moneydance file is there in the Fire Dropbox folder, so Dropbox seems to be syncing the tablet to my laptop, but when I open Moneydance on the Fire, it shows “no folders available”.
I’ve tried deleting all files from Dropbox, and uninstalling/re-installing Moneydance and Dropbox on the tablet as per the guide, including my Dropbox password, and the 2nd stage 6-digit code sent to my phone (I haven’t changed my Dropbox password). I confirmed I want to allow Moneydance access to Dropbox, but still the same: file is there in the Dropbox folder, but the Moneydance app won’t sync with it.
Will I have to download the APK files to enable access to the standard Google Play Store?
I do of course save the data files on a separate hard disc as well.
For information, I’ve copied relevant extracts from the guide below

“It is very important that you ensure the data file you'd like to sync with is not already located in any shared folder (like Dropbox, Network Share, etc) before syncing is setup. We strongly recommend that your main data file (the .moneydance file) is stored locally. In newer versions of Moneydance, you'll be prompted to move the file to your local system, if Moneydance detects the file is being shared. Launch Moneydance on your computer to view the file you'd like to share, then navigate to File --> Syncing. To share your data with a mobile/iOS/Android device, you'll need to ensure you select either Dropbox Folder or Dropbox Connection as the sync method. Dropbox Folder - Sync using the Dropbox folder on this computer. This will allow Moneydance to process synced data even if you're not connected to the Internet at the time. Dropbox Connection - Sync by connecting to your Dropbox account. Moneydance will communicate with the Dropbox service if you authorise it to access your files
The next step is to install the free app on your mobile device from the the Google Play Store - if you're using Android. Once installed, open the app to see the “Dropbox" title and logo displayed. Select this, then tap "Connect to Dropbox". You'll be taken to Dropbox's website to give the Moneydance app permission to access your Dropbox. If you're already connected to Dropbox on your device, this may be done automatically.
If you have more than one file enabled to sync via Dropbox, choose the same file you have opened on your computer. Enter the Encryption Password that you created earlier. Your data should populate into the app. It may take a few moments for the initial sync to complete and for your account information to display.”

Any ideas please?
Steve

It’s not clear if you’ve updated the android app? The old one stopped working and you need the new one for Dropbox to work.

    Hi Stuart
    Thanks for your prompt response.
I originally downloaded the Moneydance app at the start of Jan this year, and it worked at that time.
To attempt a fix, I have un-installed it and re-installed (twice) yesterday.
In view of your information that the old app stopped working, I have dug somewhat deeper, and suspect the problem is that I have only ever downloaded it from the Amazon app store, rather than Google Play Store. This version shows as 1.13.
I have found in other cases that apps listed in the Amazon store are sometimes outdated or no longer available. So perhaps I need to download those APK files that allow Amazon Fire tablets access to the standard Google Play Store. Do you know please if the new version Android beta 2022.1 15 Apr 2022 has yet been issued as a standard update?
    Thanks
    Steve

    Thanks Derek.
That is the confirmation I was looking for. It seems I will have to give up on the Amazon app store, and get the updated version on Google Play
