Moving from DropBox Sync to iCloud

Hi folks, I was wondering if there is an FAQ/Lessons learned from moving from DB to iCloud sync.

was just reading this - https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/74672-icloud-syncing

and noted lots of challenges. Im all on Mac/iOS etc and would prefer to sync here. I will be using multiple apple ID's eg my wifes computer and mine..

Is there an easy way to do this? and make the switch?

   Hi Nigel,
   Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

   iCloud Drive is Mac specific, as outlined in our blog and it can only be used with one iCloud account at the time, as stated in this article of the Knowledge base.

   You need to ensure that:

   • all the computer you wish to sync your data file with, are running the same build and version of Moneydance - Moneydance 2022.4 (4087)
   • the data file you wish to sync is stored in the default location on the computer where you set up the process.

   Then you should navigate to File->Syncing and turn sync off everywhere by choosing Don't Sync.
   Close Moneydance
   Launch Moneydance again and take a manual back up of the file you consider to be the most up-to date

   On the primary computer navigate to File->Syncing and choose iCloud Drive
   - Set or take note of your existing "Passphrase".

   On the secondary computer

   Navigate to File->New->Open synced file.
   Or from the Welcome to Moneydance window, choose Create a new account set and select Open Synced File

   • Choose the same sync method as the primary computer - iCloud Drive

   • Enter the same Passphrase to match the primary computer

   @All

   iCloud support in the iOS app is now working and will be released very soon now. The development team is currently fixing a couple of obvious issues and then a preview will be available via testflight. Please find a testflight link here.
