It's great that the Moneydance mobile app now works with iCloud. Any plans of providing similar functionality for the Android version of the Moneydance mobile app and Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive?

    Hi Gareth,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Although I'm not aware on any immediate plan for adding Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive as alternative sync methods, I've filed a ticket in our ticketing system with your suggestion. By posting in this discussion your interest in the ticket has been registered. This is equivalent to voting for it. We will post on this thread when there are further developments on this topic.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

@Maddy: Maybe suggest to have an option to choose a lokal file path on the mobile device so all kinds of sync solutions may be used including QSync, SynologyDrive, OwnCloud etc. and call it "manual file path" option or something for advanced users. That should be much easier to program real interfaces, no?

I concur with this request. DropBox is not the only sync solution out there, so users should not be limited to a service they potentially do not use or want. Plus the "free" space available is extremely small.

Doomi has an excellent suggestion in allowing the mobile app to browse the local phone file system to the MD file that the user has chosen to sync to the device using any other sync service desired. Code once, satisfy many.

Alternatively, you could use Shared Folder as your preferred sync method from File->Syncing->Shared Folder->Select Shared Folder indicating the exact location where you have previously created a folder on Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

That being said, your data file should be stored locally in its default location for this solution to work as expected.

Folder selection is not available in the Android app, so the suggestion
is not applicable. That is what Doomi was requesting, add the Folder
Selection feature in mobile apps so we could select the file instead of
    relying only on DropBox.

I would like to add my vote to this suggestion.
I don't use dropbox, but I would like to be able to use the Android version of MD on either Google or Microsoft cloud.
I currently save my MD data file on Microsoft MyDrive and can access it on any PC I'm using. But, as far as I remember, I couldn't access it on my Android phone.

I do have plans to add syncing via Google Drive and MS OneDrive. However, Amar, I strongly recommend against storing your moneydance data file in any kind of shared drive.

If you'd like to have your data synced across devices, please keep your data file stored in the internal folder on your own computer (which should never be on a synced drive) and then use the File->Syncing menu to choose a folder to be used for synchronisation.

Moneydance files require the underlying files an folders to not be changing out from under it. If Moneydance can't count on that basic fact then it is likely that you will lose data when the file syncing system inevitably causes conflicts and corruption.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Add my vote for synching to Google drive in the Android app. I really don't want or need yet another file sync system. Thanks and happy new year!

Sean, I am pleased to hear that you have plans to add syncing for MD via Google Drive. I have closed my Dropbox account as they have been pushing me to subscribe when I already have 2Tb with Google. So, I removed all but one file from Dropbox and even then, they kept harassing me! When do you expect to have syncing on Google Drive ready for use? I have an Android phone and a PC, not Apple devices. Robin.
