NextCloud sync

Is there any plan or capability to sync with NextCloud? Private cloud would be the most secure way to enable mobile sync.

This older thread was closed without resolution:

There seems to be sort of a workaround using a local folder that happens to be a NextCloud folder

But direct support for NextCloud would be a very welcome enhancement.
