iCloud Drive Sync
I have installed the latest version of the Moneydance app on my iPhone and everything seems to work but it doesn't always automatically sync when I open the app and the only way I can get it to sync is to open close the settings.
Shouldn't it sync every time it is opened?

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Please can you send us your Moneydance error logs? The logs should include information about what might be causing a problem.
They are saved on your computer as an errlog.txt file.
You can get to your error logs as follow:
1) navigate to Help->Console Window to show the console log in a window
or
2) in the Finder, press ⌘⇧G and then copy and paste
~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support
into the field and press enter/return.At that point the finder will show an internal folder containing the errlog.txt file that include the log.
Finally you can paste the full content to your next reply here.

Hi Maddy,
Sync appears to be working now. I found there were 4 sync files visible to the iPad Moneydance app, but none had a current save date. I deleted all Moneydance content from my iCloud account and then reset the iCloud sync in Moneydance.

I spoke too soon. New entries today in Moneydance on my iMac are not appearing in the iPad app.

According to the development team, the iOS app doesn't automatically sync when the app is resumed (ie it was already running but brought back to the foreground) but it does sync upon launch when it hasn't been running in a while. It does automatically sync every 60 seconds.

Thanks Maddy, that makes sense. It seems to be working just fine now.
It would really help if you could publish a brief note to users on how to setup iCloud sync and what to expect from it

App still doesn’t sync for me when it launches. I have to ‘force’ a sync by going in and out of settings.

Firstly, we would recommend upgrading to the latest preview version. Moneydance 2022.5 (4089) is now available to download from this page. This is a free upgrade for you! You should remove or choose to overwrite the older version and restart Moneydance.
Then navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and install the Toolbox
Launch Toolbox and from Toolbox Options (on top left corner) choose "Advanced Mode".
Click Advanced mode - red tab (on the right).

That seems to have worked. Though it won’t help people who ar not prepared to install a preview version.

A preview version of Moneydance is nothing but the latest stable version to which we have added the latest fixes and improvements.
