I've been successfully been able to sync between devices using Dropbox since I've been using Moneydance last five years. Now I want to switch to iCloud, but MD wont let me.

I'm using Moneydance 2022.5 (4091) on OSX Monterey 12.4, mobile app version 2.32 on iOS 15.6.1. I've logged in on the same iCloud account on all of my devices. Other apps I have uses iCloud for it's syncing flawlessly, so I don't think my setup is the problem.

Steps I used were:
1) Stop Dropbox syncing by selecting "Don't Sync" option on the Sync Settings Dialog Box
2) Restart MD
3) Select "iCloud Drive" on the Sync Settings Dialog Box
This is where I get stuck. Even though the OK button is blue and "pushable", nothing happens. Also my old sync encryption passphrase is still there.

Too clear out my passphrase and start anew, I've used the Extensions->Toolbox->Advanced Mode->Force RESET Sync Settings. While that cleared out my passphrase, the "iCloud Drive" option still doesn't do anything. I've tried last few hours to reset/re-sync but to no avail. I even deleted all instances of Moneydance on my Mac and iOS devices, including data, libraries and plists. Using a backup dataset, I created a fresh install but I still can't sync to the iCloud. So for now, I'm still using Dropbox which works great but it's kind of slow.

Go back to console. Save and upload the log.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/555287222022-08-27T00:35:21Z2022-08-27T05:22:21ZMoving device syncing from Dropbox to iCloud

Hello Stuart,

First of all, nice toolbox you got there.

Secondly this is my log output. I sanitized it by replacing my username to USER and my uuid object number to UUID. Other than that it is as is.

Note. Last few lines "ICloudContainer.isContainerAvailable(): nativeGetICloudPath: null" is where I pressed the "OK" button multiple times with no action.

gcat10tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/555287222022-08-27T04:43:51Z2022-08-27T04:43:51ZMoving device syncing from Dropbox to iCloud

Nice spot....

ICloudContainer.isContainerAvailable(): nativeGetICloudPath: null
will certainly be why it's not working...

For some reason MD, hence Java, is not returning the iCloud path from the Mac's iCloud API.... If you click CMD-SPACE and search for iCloud, does it show the iCloud Drive app? Can you launch this?

In Finder, can you see iCloud top left?

In Mac's Settings, click your Apple ID, is iCloud Drive ticked? Under options, is the MD app ticked?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/555287222022-08-27T05:16:40Z2022-08-27T05:23:08ZMoving device syncing from Dropbox to iCloud

Wow. That worked! I didn't have MD checked under the iCloud Drive settings. Took about a minute to get it syncing again. All that hours wasted and I was one checkmark away.
Thanks, Stuart.
