Hide accounts on Mobile

Hi, This is the third time that I asked for that. I’m a customer for more than 10 years, and it is very frustrating because you can’t do a simple feature to help me with a big problem.

I have a lot of accounts on the desktop app that I like to hide them on mobile for privacy reasons, like assets or saving accounts. Today, to do that, I mark as inactive all they. The problem is that inactive accounts as showed as zero balance on the desktop.

I asked for this feature, 5 years ago, and again 1 year ago. There is a ticked 5395, but I think I will be retired when you do that. You can find it here in forum my others solicitations, in somewhere, it is unbelievable how the mobile App is poor and you can add a simple feature like that. (Simple, because I am asking only to hide them on a mobile)

Like I said before, a simple feature in desktop version to select what I want to sync to mobile, would fix this.

You can add an option below "Hide on summary page", something like "Hide on mobile" and this is done!

I’m talking about 10 lines of code in desktop version and maybe 5 lines on mobile version.

I know you can do that in less than one day, because the structure to hide account already exist on mobile (the app doesn't show closed accounts) - maybe you don’t need to change the app.

Another solution is to create an option to inactive the account keeping the balance intact. (Instead of zero) - the mobile will hide automatically because it is closed, and the desktop will show the balance.

As I said, there are some options to implement that, and I can sure you, this is really important for security reasons. (I don’t what to show on my mobile some accounts)

    I'd like to be able to choose which active account should be shown on the my phone, like E.F. wrote in your message, for personal security.

    Is there any expectation that we will gain this functionality in the next version?
    For personal security, I believe it's a great feature to implement.

    I updated to version 2023 and guess what? This simple feature is not there. Shame on you. It's been 6 years updating and asking for simple functionality. Nothing... None... Nada...

    just a user - updating the computer software won't change mobile.

    You need a mobile upgrade to get what you want to have.

    The feature could not be in the desktop version, you are talking about something on the mobile, any change has to really be on that side.

    A note about feature requests.

    I do not work for TIK but I have worked for product groups in the industry. When a suggestion is made it generally gets logged into some sort of system.

    This just means that it is there, not that anything has been done with it, that it has been approved or will happen, it is just there for consideration at some point in time. The support staff logging the requests will have no say in what gets implemented, that is a question for Product Management.

    One thing I would do however it come back reasonably quickly with those suggestions that will never get implemented and close them out with a reason, responding to the posters - so requests for example would be impossible. some would go against the program design, some well there are just the resources to do.

    Additional people saying I would like that too just gives a guide as to the demand levels but again do not necessarily mean a request will get implemented.

    More feedback on program requests from the company would be welcome and perhaps a better outline of what logging a suggestion means when it happens

    Hi dtd, it can be done through the desktop, as I said before, there is already a command that the desktop sends to the mobile, which the mobile understands that it should not show.

    Yeah… You're right about the staff doesn't give feedback, it's just a “ticket already exists” that doesn't mean anything. But a customer who has been using Moneydance for over 10 years, updating the version every 2 years, paying for that, and makes a simple request, which “yes”, can be done through the desktop, and this request is ignored… it is a shame.

    Here it is a tip to implement it easily on the desktop. (Without changing app)

    Create an option “Hide on Mobile” in the desktop (inside account)

    Do nothing on the desktop when this is flagged.

    When this option is flagged, send to mobile the account as “account closed”.

    This is the way. :-)

    This long-awaited new feature is already in roadmap ?

    As E.F. suggested, we believed to add this feature isn't too complex to development and it will be a great feature for security reason.

    I created a new account to manage some account that I don't want to show them in my cellular device. It's very annoying.
