    Hi Alastrair,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

In order to switch to iCloud Drive Sync you need to ensure that:

    • your computer is running Moneydance 2022.5 (4091)

    • the data file you wish to sync is stored in the default location on the computer where you set up the process.

    • your devices are using the same iCloud account - this is very important! It is not currently possible to sync to multiple iCloud accounts.

We recommend creating a backup before proceeding save it to a location of your choice, eg.:your desktop (just in case).
To create a manual backup, choose File --> Export Backup.

Then you should navigate to File->Syncing and turn sync off by choosing Don't Sync - if you were using a different sync method previously, and restart Moneydance.

Navigate to File->Syncing and choose iCloud Drive
    - Set or take note of your existing "Passphrase".

On your iPad/iPhone you need to install the latest iOS mobile app.

Launch the mobile app and choose the same file as your computer.
Enter your Password to match the Passphrase on your computer.

Finally, enter a "dummy"" transaction on each device and allow a few seconds for them to sync. They should display exactly the same transactions.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

iCloud Drive missing in dropdown menu for File -> Syncing.

Maddy, thank you for the detailed instructions. I followed them (and verified I have MD 4091 installed) but when I got to "Navigate to File->Syncing and choose iCloud Drive" the dropdown menu contained only Don't Sync, Dropbox Folder, Dropbox Connection, and Shared Folder.

Should I (1) create a .moneydancesync folder in my local iCloud folder and then (2) select Shared Folder in File -> Syncing and navigate to it?

I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates.

    I'm a fellow user.

iCloud syncing is not supported with Windows, on desktop/laptop devices it is only supported with macOS.

TIK (Moneydance) has developed iCloud syncing as an Apple environment solution and to date it has not been proven that it can work with Windows.
