just a user - first of all, Mac, Windows, or Linux.
What version of MD were you using on the old computer. What version of Moneydance do you plan to use on the new computer? Is the new computer just a new Windows, or are you changing platforms.
The answer is that it can be done, but sometimes going "newer" breaks the older software. Answering these questions will help anyone here to give you the correct direction to answer what you ask.
