Account duplicated on entering new transactions in iOS app

When entering 2 new transactions into an existing account on the iPhone app, it "duplicated" the account name (i.e. put the two new transactions into a new account with exactly the same name). This "twin" account was then also synced over to the Mac desktop version as a separate account.
This condition persists after restarting the desktop application, and the new account can be clicked and the new transactions viewed, just like the old one.
However, only the old account (recognizable through the balance) is shown in the navigation list on the left.
(See screenshots)

Note: I am still evaluating Moneydance and its iOS app, so there are very few accounts and transactions.)
Because IOS/desktop sync would be fairly important for me, I am curious to hear about a fix ...

    Hi Eugen,

I'm sorry it's taken so long to get back to you on this. Are you still having this problem, or were you able to resolve it?
