Syncing with multiple users?

For years we managed business and personal finances using Quickbooks. Now that we are retired and not tied to desks, we are considering switching to Moneydance. We like the program features that allow users to run the program using the desktop version and sync with a mobile device. Is it possible for two iOS devices to sync data? Does family sharing in iCloud need to be active?

We really like what we have read about your program; especially the ability to have data privacy.

    Hi Susan

Yes you can sync your data between any number of computers and mobile devices. Add a transaction to one device and within 60 seconds it will appear on the other devices.
There is an issue with using iCloud Drive. The last Apple update broke it.
Instead install a free copy of Dropbox Client on all your computers, same account. No need to instal on mobile devices. The when setting up syncing on your primary computer under FILES - Syncing use the sync method Dropbox Folder. When setting up all of your secondary computer under NEW – OPEN SYNCED FILE also use Dropbox Folder. When you have installed the app on your mobile device again use Dropbox as the sync method

    Hope this helps

I believe this is the program we need; being able to sync to two users is what my husband wants.

    Many thanks!

    Sincerely yours,

    Hi Susan

    Try it out for yourself.

Downloaded Moneydance from https://infinitekind.com/preview which is a full working version with the only limit being a maximum of 100 manually entered transactions, with no time limit. Imported files from other financial programs and your bank have no limit on imports, provided that you do not confirm them.
If you decided to purchase, you are sent a key by email that unlocks the 100-manual transaction limit. If after testing with this free trial version you purchase and change your mind see the 90 day money back guaranty at https://infinitekind.com/refunds

For the future Moneydance never sunsets the version it releases. So, you don’t have to upgrade. If you won’t to upgrade the next version is free (say 2023 to 2024) and from then on you get a 50% discount. All upgrades within a version are free.

For information on how to use Moneydance see https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb

    Hope this helps

You may already know this, but you only need to purchase one copy for personal use and you can use it on multiple computers to sync.

Still you don't need to buy any copies as you try it out - and buy one if you decide you will be using it...

We are using DropBox to sync between multiple devices and multiple people. I think long ago I used the dropbox website to "share" the sync folder (hidden inside a folder called ".moneydance" in the Dropbox account) to each person's Dropbox accounts, so everyone could use their own free tier Dropbox account.

@Johann - that's exactly what I do as well. Works great.
