Hi ,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delayed reply. I have also responded to your other discussion earlier today. Please find the same below:
In order to sync using iCloud Drive Sync you need to ensure that:
your computer is running Moneydance 2023.3 (5064) or more generally the software is updated to the latest version.
the data file you wish to sync is stored in the default location on the computer where you set up the process. This is crucial!
Your devices are using the same iCloud account -It is not currently possible to sync to multiple iCloud accounts.
Then you should navigate to File->Syncing and turn sync off by choosing Don't Sync
(if you were using a different sync method previously, and restart Moneydance)
On your mobile device/s you need to install the latest iOS mobile app.
Launch the mobile app and choose the same file as your computer.
Enter your Password to match the Passphrase on your computer.
Finally, enter a "dummy"" transaction on each device and allow a few seconds for them to sync. They should display exactly the same transactions.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Hi Michael
I am not a Mac user so you may need more help than I can give.
But one thing to check are you and your wife using the same iCloud Account.
Unlike Dropbox on Apple devices where you can share between accounts I don’t think you can with iCloud.

Derek, that is very kind of you to respond. FYI I 'share' my iCloud account with my wife. That is, the data is held in my iCloud account and then shared with my wife.
Perhaps you can tell me if I can share the file outside of the iCloud environment? I can happily do that, particularly as the file sits on the same iMac on which we have our separate profiles.

The simplest approach is to use a free Dropbox account. Logon using the same account. And sync via Dropbox folders.
Otherwise you will have to battle trying to get everyone using the same iCloud account.

Hi Michael
I agree with Stuart. Install a free Dropbox client, on each of your computers and sync using the Moneydance sync Dropbox Folder. You dont need to install Dropbox on your mobile devices. The mobile apps have Dropbox inbuilt.
Hope this helps

I'm a fellow user.
Some experienced Mac/Moneydance users have tried to get iCloud user sharing working with Moneydance syncing, the same as can be done with Dropbox. They have been unsuccessful. I can only really conclude that there is something in the way iCloud works that prevents Moneydance working with the data.

Thanks everyone. I am synching using my Dropbox account across all my Apple devices and all is well. However....
My wife has her own Dropbox account. How do I tell MD on her profile (on the shared iMac) to look at my Dropbox account?

You should log into that Dropbox account at: http://dropbox.com
Double click on the folder called .moneydancesync and select the downward arrow next to Share (on the right hand side of the screen) to add your wife's account.
Finally, it might be useful referring you to this article.

The 'this article' link doesn't take me to an article - see attached screen shot. Which of those should I look at?
I have tried 5 times to type in the long code generated by Dropbox and 5 times it has been rejected. Is there a way of copying and pasting?
