iPhone app no longer syncs with changes made on Mac Desktop
Recently my iPhone app stopped syncing with changes made on Mac Desktop. Strangely, the Desktop will reflect changes made on the app. I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling, deleting files. Nothing has worked.
I'm bummed. I've used Mondaydance for probably a decade plus but think I might have to switch to something else.

UPDATE! Moneydance will now only update the app by quitting and restarting the Desktop version. Not great functionality!

Hi Tom
What version of Moneydance are you running e.g. 2024.2(5118)
What Moneydance Sync Method are you using e.g. Dropbox Folder.

@derekkent23 Yes, I'm on v 2024.2(5118) with Dropbox. I had to update as the previous version stopped syncing at all. Now it syncs after I quit the desktop and restart it (which takes much longer than it used to)

Hi Tom
If Dropbox Connection then set up syncing again using Dropbox Folder after you install Dropbox Client on your computer. Then disconnect you iPhone and reconnect to new listed Data Set.
Hope this helps.

Hi Terry
Many user have reported that the latest Mac operating system has broken Moneydance iCloud syncing. Set up syncing on your computers again using a free Dropbox account, install Dropbox client and use Moneydance sync method Dropbox Folder. If you are using mobile devices disconnect then and then reconnect to the new synced file.
Hope this helps.

This comment was split into a new private discussion: iPhone app no longer syncs with changes made on Mac Desktop
Update! The solutions above did not work. Only way to sync is to quit the desktop app (which takes 2-3 minutes as it "syncs") and reopen. Must do this every time to align data between phone and desktop on Mac.

@Tom - In all this time you've never said how you sync, icloud or dropbox folder, or something else. You also have never informed this forum of what Mac OS you are using. Sonoma or something else?
Also, did you ever actually try Stuart's Toolbox extension fix? Your response was simply....
No fix. Required updating to newest MD release [which isn't that informative]
It requires information from you beyond "I may have to quit using MD" and "No fix" and "Not great functionality" to help you.
@Terry - the issue is iCloud if you are running under Sonoma.

Thank you. I have switched from iCloud to Dropbox for syncing and no issues. I would hope to be able to return to iCloud for syncing eventually if they can fix whatever the issue is.
Thank you

@dtd Note my comment on Aug 20 about Dropbox and MD version.Tried the aforementioned fix with no success as mentioned on Jun 4. There was no ask of my OS, but it's Sonoma.

The issue is that Apple have made changes to how iCloud syncing works. These changes are not really suited to an application that uses incremental changes to keep other machines in sync with changes made locally. The result is slow performance.
I doubt that Apple would see this as a problem, they want iCloud to work the way they want it to, if it doesn't suit an applications requirements it is not their problem.
Moneydance cannot be changed to suit the way Apple iCloud works on Sonoma because that would then defeat what the software trying to achieve.
In short iCloud is now not designed as a general purpose syncing solution, it seems Apple have gone down the "smart" syncing solution, with technology like on demand syncing.

@Tom - I see no response on Aug 20.
And I still see no response of further information on helping us help you (other than "it's sonoma"
given that bit of info- move from icloud to dropbox folders.

Sorry, Aug 2 not 20, where I mention I already use DropBox. I tried derek's solution that followed to no avail.
It's fine, we can close this thread
