Unable to open Moneydance on Samsung S23 Ultra Phone
I purchased Moneydance December 4, 2024 (Receipt # 67478956). I have downloaded it onto my Samsung S23 Ultra Android phone. The problem now is that Moneydance will not open on my phone, it will appear to be opening but will just flash the icon and then close right down. I would like to have moneydance on my phone to work, if I can't get it to work on my phone then I don't want it at all, because it is not much use to me if I can't use it on my phone. Please help me get it working on my phone! Thank you!!

Hi Sandi,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
You could try installing the version 2023.0 of the Android mobile app. This beta version is available for download here - at bottom right of the page, or via Google Play.
You can subscribe to the Google Play services beta using a web browser, or directly through your device. After you've signed up, it will be automatically downloaded on all devices using the Google account you signed up with. After re-starting your device, you will be running the beta version.
Finally, you can turn on automatic updates, as follow:
Open Google Play.
Tap the icon with three horizontal lines on the top-left.
Tap Settings.
Tap Auto-update apps.
Then, from your computer: Launch Moneydance and open the file you wish to sync.
With "Dropbox Folder" you need to have Dropbox installed and running on your computer, but you don't need to be online in order for Moneydance to read and write the changes.
Launch the mobile app and choose the same file as your computer.
Enter your Password to match the Passphrase on your computer.
Finally, enter a "dummy"" transaction on each device and allow a few seconds for them to sync. They should display exactly the same transactions.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I get the message "this app has a bug" when I try to open the app. It
tries to open then closes right away still. Please HELP! I'm at a loss as
to what to do.

Sorry to hear that the issue persists!
Please can you provide the information below:
Would you be able to send us a copy of the Moneydance error logs generated in the desktop version?
The logs should include information on what might be causing the issue.
You could navigate to Help->Console Window and click the arrow (at the bottom left). Select Copy to Clipboard and attach or paste the full content in your next reply.
Alternatively, you should navigate to:
Local Disk(C:)>Users>Your Name>.moneydance>errlog.txt
Finally you can copy the full content into your next reply here.
Please be assured that this should work and we will definitely find a solution. I can confirm that I'm running Moneydance 2024 and the Android mobile app where the syncing process is running smoothly.

The errors are NOT occurring in the desktop version they are ONLY occurring
in the android version on my Samsung S23 Utra. The android app WILL NOT
OPEN! It does not work! I can not open the app. It closes before it ever
opens. The desktop is running fine and it is the 2024 version. I ha e
downloaded the 2024 version for my android Samsun S23 Ultra phone and I've
tried the version that you told me to try and it won't work, it does the
same thing as the 2024 version.

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Sandi
The reason Maddy asked to the errlog.txt file from Moneydance on your computer is it often contains information that can point to problems on the mobile app, so it’s a good place to start.
