Hi,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
iCloud Drive syncing depends on operating system support for it, so it may not be possible from Windows. On the other hand, Apple has iCloud software that can install on Windows, so it might be possible when you choose the "Shared Folder" syncing method and if you choose the exact right location under the
C:\Users[user name]\iCloud Drive folder.
That being said, since this workaround has not been tested enough, if you feel adventurous and you want to try it out, you should do so only using a dummy data set and definitely not your live data file.
Alternatively, you should ensure that your data file is stored in the default location before setting up sync and follow the steps below:
From your computer: Launch Moneydance and navigate to File->Syncing
Choose Don't Sync and close Moneydance.
With "Dropbox Folder" you need to have Dropbox installed and running on your computer, but you don't need to be online in order for Moneydance to read and write the changes.
Launch the mobile app and choose the same file as your computer.
Enter your Password to match the Passphrase on your computer.
Finally, enter a "dummy"" transaction on each device and allow a few seconds for them to sync. They should display exactly the same transactions.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Hi,
Thank you for the response. I have all the default paths and have icloud installed on windows machine. I select syncing but cannot see the file and the screen is blank on my iphone and macbook. When i select syncing in the moneydance application does it create the shared folder automatically on icloud or do i need to create the folder, If i need to create it can you tell me how and where to ceate the shared folder?
Thanks
sTeve

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi spetropo
I don’t think you will get a Windows computer to sync even with icloud drive installed.
The only way is with a free Dropbox account. I would suggest using the Moneydance sync method Dropbox Folder after installing Dropbox Client on your Windows computer. Once done you should be able to sync iphone and macbook assuming you have installed Dropbox Client on the Macbook. You don’t need to install Dropbox on your iphone the Moneydance mobile app has a Dropbox API already installed.
Hope this helps.

A few users have tried using iCloud with Windows for Moneydance syncing, I am not aware of anyone that has managed to make it work.
iCloud syncing with Moneydance was introduced for those users with a totally Apple ecosystem that did not want to use anything but Apple in the environment.
