Transferring data.

Moneydance on a new Laptop and want to transfer my previous Moneydance software and information to the new app.

    Hi Colin,
    Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

    Please find the steps for Moving your data file/s to a new computer here.

    Alternatively you could try this approach:

    From the old computer navigate to Moneydance->Show Document folder.

    Locate the file you wish to move over (check the time stamp). Close Moneydance!

    Copy your data file ( YourFileName.moneydance) to a USB drive (if it's easier) and paste it to the default location in the new computer.
    While doing this, you should ensure that the software is fully closed on the new computer.

    In this way Moneydance will detect the file automatically. Finally, you should launch Moneydance on the new computer and navigate to File->Open and select the file.
