Syncing bank accounts through Dropbox with two different Macs

Hi, I want to sync my bank accounts with Dropbox with my great niece. We both bought moneydance (William Prinzmetal, Braelynn Bennett) and we both have dropbox accounts. We're able to share other folders (Excel, Word, etc..) But we're not able to share moneydance. We both have Macintosh computers. All the files I want to share with my niece are in a folder, called "personal docs" which I have shared with my great niece. I have the 2015 guide but it doesn't cover this situation. I have two accounts that I like to share with her, they're both in the same bank and file. The old manual discusses sharing with another Apple device such as an iPhone, but it doesn't say anything about sharing with somebody else with another computer. The sync has four choices: Dropbox folder, dropbox connection, iCloud, some thing, folder some thing). We chose dropbox folder, but it didn't ask us any thing about which folder to use. We both naturally have iCloud accounts. Is that easier. We both have dropbox accounts. What do I have to do to share my moneydance information with another person?

    I'm a fellow Moneydance customer.

With Moneydance syncing you are sharing entire account sets, you cannot just share selected accounts within a data file. I included this note as from your description I am not sure if you are referring to two data files or just would like to share 2 accounts in a single data file (which is not possible)

Syncing using iCloud is restricted to using a single iCloud account so that means that you could not use 2 iCloud Accounts, so I think that will not meet your needs.

Using two Dropbox accounts does work and has been tested. There is a specific set up as Moneydance does need a specific structure.

To help people that wish to do this a Moneydance Knowledge Base article has been written that covers the setup, you can find it at:

    Hi William

I can confirm dwg comments. I have three Windows computes and one Linux computer. I use Dropbox Folder with three computers on one Dropbox account with the fourth on a separate Dropbox account. The four computer sync seamlessly.

    Have Fun, Stay Safe.
