Anyone have any ideas on using a "paste" function with the MoneyDance sync request? Whenever I try to sync my local verso. with my Dropbox online folder I receive the input Dropbox's authorization number. This is a hard to do by typing, from one screen (or photo) into the Moneydance programs window.
Wouldn't a "paste" feature in the MoneyDance program work here? This would make (us older) users much happier....promise!!!

    Hi C.J.,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

In order to Copy and Paste your Dropbox's authorization number, you should:

    • Select it, then press Command (⌘) + C to copy it

    • then press Command (⌘) + V to paste it.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Just did that (owned a Mac since 2015, still don’t know shortcuts). Did the select, command +C,, then +V. Program did a complete lock up. Anyone have this happen before?
Is there a report I could provide? Thought it was cool…then snap!
    Ugh.

Please feel free to send us your Moneydance error logs and we will look into this more closely.

They are saved on your computer as an errlog.txt file.

You can get to your error logs as follow:

    1) navigate to Help->Console Window to show the console log in a window

    or

    2) in the Finder, press ⌘⇧G and then copy and paste ~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support into the field and press enter/return.

At that point the finder will show an internal folder containing the errlog.txt file which includes the log.

Finally you can paste the full content to your next reply.
To add an attachment to this thread, please click on the "Browse" button.

    Alternatively:

when you are in register view, navigate to Help/Moneydance->Console Window.

At the bottom left of the window you should see a round symbol and a downwards arrow.

Click the arrow and choose: File and Folders->Console log->Show file location.

In the following window you should see a file called error log, you can open the file and copy the content in your next reply or add it as an attachment (whichever is easier)

    Thank you

The error logs don’t indicate any issues that appear directly related to the copy/paste problem you've described.

Additionally, the logs confirm that syncing is already enabled.

To help narrow things down, could you clarify a few details?

When you go to File → Syncing, which sync method is selected — Dropbox Folder or Dropbox Connection?

Which device(s) are currently participating in the sync process?

Are you attempting to add a new device to an existing sync setup?

And finally, is your most recent data showing on your computer?
