Android app is not finding the Dropbox folder
The Android app is not syncing using the Dropbox folder method. When I open the Android app, in the Choose a Data Set screen it shows "No folders found" at the bottom. I am certain that there is a .moneydancesync folder in Dropbox, the Windows app is syncing to that folder, and I am logged into the same Dropbox account on both Android and Windows.

I have the same issue as @chris with the new Android app. When on the main account screen, the "back" gesture returns to the "loading" screen rather than it doing what you'd expect which is closing the app. I think it is behaving this way because the initial "loading data" function appears to actually be a screen instead of just happening in the background on the main account screen. But even in a multi-screen app, the back gesture should eventually close the app completely. That doesn't happen in this case.

@dreamontillyourdreamcomestrue
My method was - export a backup from desktop, then uninstall from desktop and remove the .moneydance folder from the users folder.
Uninstall from phone.
Delete folder from Dropbox
Install on desktop and import backup
Set up sync again (no other folders should populate, only the new one)
Then install on mobile and it should work.
Subject to my issue above which means it doesn't work for long and as such I've got no screen shot to share currently as lost the will to repeat all over again at moment!
@jeffcarp Thank you for confirming you have same issue. Hope the developer sees this so can fix what's causing it.

I seem to have sync working with the 20260205 version.
I followed Chris's steps above of
export a backup from desktop, then uninstall from desktop and remove the .moneydance folder from the users folder.
Uninstall from phone.
Delete moneydanceysync folder from Dropbox
Install on desktop and import backup
Set up sync again
Reinstall phone app and setup sync
I can get out of the Android app and back into it with no issue (need to close the app rather than using the usual back arrow to exit which just brings up the "just wait while we load your file" screen). With some limited testing, the app seems to be syncing transactions added and deleted in the phone back to the desktop, and from transactions added and deleted on the desktop back to the phone.

@md Glad that worked for you.
In my case even if I force close the app and then load it back up, I get back to the syncing data screen and can not load the app again..... Very frustrating as I use it extensively!

I have a fully working App again but one think I have noticed is that there can be a slight delay in updating the data on the phone App.
Initially the App shows the long-standing transactions. After a very short delay more recent entries made on the PC appear. You just need to be aware and not assume they are lost.
Best Wishes Chris

MD, you brought to light one thing I didn't even think about. I rarely use the back arrow on my phone. 99% of the time I close the app I am using. It is something I have done since my first android phone when memory was very precious. I'll need to remember things like that when I post again.
With that being said, I did hit the back arrow and got the same message and it just stuck there. Once I closed it and reopened, it worked again.
I am sorry this is a big issue for your chris, as I know the frustration of using an application and then one day it stops working properly.

This comment was split into a new private discussion: Android app is not finding the Dropbox folder
Interesting that some people don't have the problem I do, but at least one other person has reported the same. I do have a very large transaction history of data (but a fresh start on dropbox sync) and wonder if this is anything to do with the problem for me.

I am not support staff, just a user.
I am running 2024.4(5252) on Windows 11 and Alpha 20260205 (I see Beta now updated to this build) on my Android 16 Samsung Galaxy S23.
The size of the folder in the Dropbox Folder .moneydancesync is 22.2MB.
What the size of your folder.
I never use < I close using O
Provided I wait until for a status Sync Update on main page before closing the app sync works.
