I have a Samsung S23 Ultra that is running Android 16 / One UI version 8.

When I try to install the android app I get a message saying I can't install it because it was made for an older version of Android.

Is there an updated version in the works?

    Hi Curtis

The section you posted in, Syncing Moneydance with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android Devices is full of discussion on Android problems.

At the moment the only way forward is to uninstall the Android app. Sign up as a Beta tester at https://infinitekind.com/preview
Wait some time until Play Store recognise you are now a Beta tester and on your Android install the Beta build. Set up syncing on your phone and wait for it to sync. On the SETTING window you should see the build number. After adding a transaction on your phone on the main screen wait for a sync time update before closing the app. Note when active PIN LOCK enables a feature Authentication Required. Fingerprint or your phone pin to access. This feature does not work correctly; you can see account data and it is possible access without using finger print or pin. Hopefully this will eventually get fixed.

Remember this is not a stable release, just a Beta Build.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Curtis

I have seen no promised date. The Moneydance developer Sean is periodically releasing new Alpha builds in attempt to fix some issues relating to the PIN Lock feature. Syncing seems to be working.

I signed up as a Beta Tester and I still got a message that the App was not compatible with my phone. I use a Samsung S23.

    Hi CA

Instead of a Beta Tester signup as an Alpha tester at https://infinitekind.com/prepreview

Make sure that on the Prev preview page that the same email account is set as in Play Store.

I am on windows 11 using Google Chrome browser. On this browser at the top right I can click on the symbol to shows me the email account I am using. In Play Store on my Android phone clicking on the top right symbol shows me my email address that Play Store is using. They must be both the same.

    Have Fan, Stay Safe.

We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

If you’ve never been able to install any version of the Android mobile app, you may need to wait for the next public release. Unfortunately, Google controls this part of the process, not us.

I’ve flagged this thread so you’ll be notified as soon as the new public version becomes available.

A public release can only happen once two things are in place:
    • Every required fix has been added and confirmed in the Beta version, and • Google Play has approved the final build for distribution.

Until both steps are complete, we can’t roll out the update to everyone.
