iphone sync trouble
This comment was split from the discussion: Can't get access code to work
Hi there,
I'm running MD 2011r2 (803) with network synchronizer v14 under MacOS X.7.2 and MD 1.4 under iOS 5.0.1 (9A405). When I tried to connect both MDs, the computer always tells me access code wrong.
I've double checked the code multiple times and tried both machines with two different Wi-Fi networks. The results are always the same. :(
The console window gave the following information for my last try. Please help!

Hi Kuang,
Unfortunately with the current release of the i-app, some users' network configurations make it hard for the syncing to happen. We are planning to release at the end of the month a major re-write of the app that will not have any of these issues. I would encourage you to wait until then and I apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support

Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear the update will (hopefully!) be out by year's end. Will this "re-write" be of the iPhone app alone, or the desktop application as well?

Hi James,
This will be a re-write of the app and the net-sync extension which runs on the desktop. As usual we are working to change and improve the desktop version as well but no scheduled release date for Moneydance 2012 yet.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support

Is the new version coming out soon?

...glad to hear the i app update is just around the corner. This issue has been a significant drawback on usability of MD...this function was on of the key decision points for me to move over to MD.
Looking forward to the new release !!!!

I think the developer is probably missing half of Christmas to get it out of beta-testing ASAP. So it should be very soon.

On June 7 we submitted the iOS app to Apple to approval, so we'll definitely post on our blog, Twitter, and Facebook as soon as it's available. This update includes significant improvements to syncing, including Dropbox based syncing. We're not sure how long the approval queue is (Apple is a bit opaque about it) but we're hoping soon! We'll also post on this thread when the app is available.

Some bad news: Apple did not approve our latest update to the iPhone/iPad/iPod Moneydance app. This was due to the Dropbox authorisation page linking to an external signup form.
The good news: we've re-submitted the app using a newer version of the Dropbox SDK that resolves the issue while also making the Dropbox authorisation a bit easier. This submission also fixes a few small bugs that were discovered in the past week.
We're all very sorry for the additional delay in getting the app update. I expect it will be another 5 working days which is Apple's current advertised time to review app updates.

We're delighted to announce that version 1.5 of the Moneydance app, including Dropbox based syncing, is now available. You can find the full announcement on our blog, and Knowledge base articles, including a video tutorial here. You can get to the app directly here
If you have any questions, please post in our new category for questions about the app update. This will help us to more effectively address any questions related to the new version of the Moneydance iPhone app.
We hope you love this new app as much as we do, and thanks as always for using Moneydance.

This comment was split into a new discussion: lost iPhone sync access key
Running MD 2010r3 (757) with v14 of Synch on iPhone 4 running iOS5.1.1(9B206).
Synch worked fine at the end of May before leaving on a 4 week trip to Europe where I tracked every expense as I went on the iPhone. Now I have returned home and MD doesn't see my iPhone to synch despite being on the same Subnet. I upgraded to MD 2011 and synch vs15 and tried to reconnect using the Synch Setup. MD can see the iPhone but wants the access key which the Synch App will not give up :-). On the iPhone under settings there is a setting that says "Sync - Wifi". Great! I thought this is where I'll find the Access Code. No such luck. All this does is give me the ability to disconnect the WiFi Sync mode. HOWEVER - I will lose all of my data (apparently) if I do this. Why doesn't the App also show the Access code in the Sync setting so we can recover the synch if it breaks? Now I am stuck. I have looked for the access code from previous backups to no avail and I am concerned about Disconnecting the Sync setting as I might lose 4 weeks of data. Any ideas?
