I am interested in using Moneydance but am a little hesitant since I read about so many issues with the software. I am wanting to install it on my MacBook Pro with the newest Lion software. This will be my primary source for inputting data and syncing accounts. However, I also have an iPod Touch, Ipad2 and am getting an iPhone in the near future. I would like to input data on the iPod touch and Ipad2 when I am away traveling. Do you see any issues with the software that would be problematic for my situation?

    Hi Brad,

Moneydance is fully compatible with Lion and you shouldn't have any trouble running it. There are a few bugs in our iPhone app at the moment, but we intend to release a new up shortly that will resolve those.

I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program before you decide if you would like to purchase it. The demo version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test connections with your bank and imports from software like Quicken. If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all your data, the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more transactions.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!

    Jessica,
Thanks for the quick response. One more question please. We have a friend who resides in our guest house. We need the ability to post debits and credits due to sharing food & housing costs. Is this possible with Moneydance? We need to track what we owe her & she owes us on a monthly basis.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Brad,

This should be possible. You may want to do this by creating a new "checking" account with your guest's name in the program. That way you can split charges for things like food to both your and her account, charge rent to her account, enter money into her account when she has paid, etc. You can then also run a report on this account for a given month to see what the total balance is and do things like sub-total by expense category.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
