crashing
Even though I'm aware of the syncing problems with the Moneydance app, when I got my new iPhone I downloaded it anyways to see if it would sync on my system. It does sync quite consistently! But it also crashes all the time, usually right after the sync. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Will the new version (now in beta?) solve that problem as well?
Thanks,
Patty Pfitsch

I have not seen the problem you are describing. Could you file a crash report using the instructions in the following article:

Thanks--I've sent you the report, and I've also attached it here. I'm most anxious to hear what you think.

Hi Ben,
I've followed the instructions, but when I go to
MacOX/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/
there's no files or folders in the CrashReporter folder.
I'm using Lion and I did find the MobileDevice folder crash report files in
my users library. So I'm attaching the last one. There are others--I just
downloaded the app yesterday, but it's crashed a number of times.
I should also mention that I use Moneydance on one computer and sync my
iPhone with iTunes on another computer. The crash report is from the
computer on which I sync my iPhone and iTunes.
Thanks,

Update: Today I tried deleting the Moneydance app and then downloading and installing it again. I have the same problem--the minute it syncs, it crashes. However the sync does happen, though I've only tried with one entry. If I had a lot of entries to sync I'm not sure what would happen.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi Patty,
To just to keep updated. Ben emailed the lead developer but we haven't heard back from him yet. He's working on finishing the new version of the app so hopefully we will get back to you/us soon or get the replacement out that will hopefully resolve this issue.
Thanks for your patience.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support

Patty,
On June 7 we submitted the iOS app to Apple to approval, so we'll definitely post on our blog, Twitter, and Facebook as soon as it's available. This update includes significant improvements to syncing, including Dropbox based syncing. We're not sure how long the approval queue is (Apple is a bit opaque about it) but we're hoping soon! We'll also post on this thread when the app is available.

Some bad news: Apple did not approve our latest update to the iPhone/iPad/iPod Moneydance app. This was due to the Dropbox authorization page linking to an external signup form.
The good news: we've re-submitted the app using a newer version of the Dropbox SDK that resolves the issue while also making the Dropbox authorization a bit easier. This submission also fixes a few small bugs that were discovered in the past week.
We're all very sorry for the additional delay in getting the app update. I expect it will be another 5 working days which is Apple's current advertised time to review app updates.
