Rounding
Hi, I'm using Moneydance for the iPhone (using the OS 4.0 beta 2) and it seems to be rounding every new transaction up to the nearest dollar. Is this an issue in OS 3.1.3 as well?

Brendan,
I haven't experienced this issue on my iPod touch using OS 3.1.3. I'll ask our developer to look into this and see what he can figure out. I'll get back to you in a few days when I know more.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Hi Brendan,
I haven't experienced this issue on any of my devices. Can you tell us your language/country setting on the device? Are the dollars/cents separated by a period (.) or a comma(,) ?
Does the rounding happen in the quick-entry screen? How about the transaction details screen?
Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,
My phone is set to English/United States. A period separates the dollar and cents.
The rounding only happens after I save the transaction regardless of whether it's done in quick entry or in transaction detail.
Also, I just noticed that, if I create a transaction on my phone, I am unable to delete them on my phone. I have to sync first and delete the transaction on my computer.
Oh, and a correction… this is occurring in iPhone OS 4.0 beta 1, not beta 2 (some of the bugs from which prevented me from working, so I downgraded back to beta 1)
Thanks,
Brendan

I am experiencing this as well. I am using an iphone 3g us/english with ios4 GM. I have only had this issue since upgrading to ios 4.
It seems to round to the nearest whole dollar up or down. The issue also occurs when I create a new transaction or edit a transaction.

OK, I now see the same behavior when running the iOS4 GM and am working on it. Should be fixed soon.

I am using an iPod Touch Second Generation and am having the same problem after upgrading today. I just thought I'd throw my report into the ring. I'll keep checking back on the list to see when this is fixed.

Same here. Second gen Touch with iOS 4. I just upgraded to the new OS and just installed the Moneydance app, so I don't know if this would have happened on the previous OS.

Any update on this bug?
It has made the Moneydance app unusable - it was the iPhone connectivity that convonced me to buy Moneydance :-(

I've fixed the bug and plan to submit the updated app to the app store this evening.
This update will also be a universal iPad/iPhone app (assuming I finish the minor remaining tweaks) and have a slightly improved new-transaction screen.
Thanks,
Sean

Any idea when this is going to be available from the apps store?
Thanks

Look forward to this bug being fixed. A workaround is to save the real amount of the transaction in your iphone within the description, for example 'food - 3.39' and then manualy edit it when you upload.

As of 7/1/10 at 8:29 am EST, I can't find the moneydance app in the App store. What happened Sean?
Also, any ETA for the update? I'm heading on a road trip tomorrow and would love to use app to keep track of my finances.

Can support feed back to this thread please? The last update was a week ago when the problem was apparently resolved. Sine then, nothing.
I know that syncing with the iPhone is no biggie for many (most?) users but it was why I bought the product.
If the app is not going to be fixed soon then I need to reconsider that decision. I appreciate the problem could be with Apple - I have no idea how long the approval process takes - but it would be nice to know.
Thanks.

We are working on the fix, and our developer Sean tells me it is very very close to being submitted. We had thought the app update would be done a few days ago, but sadly it has taken longer than we expected to implement the full solution. I know this is a serious problems for many of our users, and I sincerely apologize that this fix is taking so long. We have pulled the current version of the app from the from the Apple store to prevent this problem from spreading.
I will post here and on our blog as soon as the fix has been, and I apologize again for the inconvenience this has caused our users. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Does this mean when you submit the new app. we will have to uninstall and down load it again, or will it do an update for the users that already have the app. on there phones.

Loraine,
The new app will appear as an update to the current app that is already installed. No need to uninstall, or to re-add the app.
I have finished development of the update and will be submitting the app this evening after testing the new version on all of my devices.
Thanks,
Sean

Thanks for the update Sean. Have you any idea how long it will be before it's on the app store? I'm going on holiday on Sunday and hoping it's ready for then.

Sean tells me it's generally 2-4 days to get approval from Apple, but I'm not sure how that will intersect with the July 4 weekend. I'll be posting an update on our blog as soon as the update is released. I'm currently traveling myself and longing for my iPhone app, here's hoping it's ready soon!

Any news on when this new version of the app will be available? It seems like it should be out by now.
Thanks for jumping on this.

The app was submitted to apple a while ago. The amount of time it takes them to approve a new version can be variable. I am afraid it is in their hands.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

Add me to the mix on this issue, however I was not having the rounding problem until after I updated my iPod Touch to iOS 4. Hope Apple gets to it soon.

Virgil,
It is IOS4 that has caused this.

Yes, I believe he's referring to Apple approving the updated app.

It's up on the App Store, I just updated on my iPad Touch and it is working again
