Lost my Access Key

I did initial sync thru the Network Synchronizer and I did have access key on mobile MS which I entered in when my device showed up. I even was able to resync the next day thru help menu- console window but then next time I used console window it erased my transactions to the first day and my 2 extra accounts are gone on Desktop MoneyDance. However, all my tranactions are up to date on my mobile MD. I do not want to have to renter everything again in my MD Desktop software. Is there a way to sync the data in my mobile MD back into the desktop MD. I did try to remove the Network Synchronizer and reconfigure my device but did not show my device. However a window popped up with my name and a place to enter access key but it is not able to come up on my mobile again. Can you help me resolve this for me without losing my uptodate transaction on my iphone MD and without having to reenter the tranactions manually in my Desktop MD Please TY

   Hi ladybugplus,

   Did your desktop Moneydance data file get lost or corrupted? If so, the Moneydance mobile app does not have enough data to recreate the the desktop data file.

   However, if the app has simply lost the key, there is a script that will print the key and you can then manually enter it into your mobile Moneydance app. I have attached the script here, called print_iphone_access_keys.py (it also works on devices other than iPhones). To run this script, you have to install the extension called "Python Scripting Interface", then go to Extensions -> Python Interface, click the "Read from file" button, then navigate to where you saved the script and open it. It will then display the keys and you will be able to copy them into your mobile app and reconnect.

   Is there a way to get the access key off my iPod ? I accidentally deleted it from the desktop program and now I can't sync .

   Tom,

   Follow the instructions above and you should be good to go. I'd also recommend trying to open a backup file which is a few days old to run the script- sometimes it doesn't always work on your newest file b/c the key is no longer present in the new version.
