Access Key
I have been synching my iPad with Moneydance with no problems until recently. Moneydance recognizes my iPad but asks for an Access Key. Where does one acquire the access key and why would this just start to happen after not having problems for so long? BTW, my iPhone still syncs fine.

Hi
The access key for the iPad app is only displayed by the iPad when you first run the iPad app and have not yet synced it with the desktop app. If you told the desktop app to forget the iPad and then tried to connect to it again you would be asked for the access key. The only way to see the key is to reinstall the iPad app.

Hi, I have just installed the Ipad app and as soon as I opened the app on my Ipad it displayed four lines containing three groups of 4 alphanumerical characters. When I tried to "add device" on the desktop app it asked for an Access Key, I tried typing in this huge series of characters but it didn't work. I tried the Dropbox method but when I open my Dropbox folder there's no Moneydance file on it. How does this work? Are there detailed instructions anywhere that I can find? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi Swati,
Just in case you did things differently, the key should be entered just as one would read a book (in english)--left to right, top to bottom, without spaces, and capitalization shouldn't matter. Due to the length of the key it's very possible to mistype it, so trying again may fix the issue.
The Dropbox functionality in the Moneydance extension is currently awaiting support in the iOS app, which is pending approval by Apple, which should hopefully be complete sometime this upcoming week. If the above steps don't help to fix the issue, waiting for the new version may be the best route. If waiting is a problem for you, however, please let us know and we'll continue to diagnose the issue!
