Moneydance for iPod Touch sort order

In my main Moneydance for iPod Touch account, my entries are sorted first by day (newest day on top), and then in ascending order of transaction amount (so e.g. -1480 is shown first, followed by -1000, followed by -824, and so on). Isn't this weird and wrong? Shouldn't the sort order be in descending order of timestamp when the transaction was entered? So the transaction that I most recently entered should always be right at the top, and then it should go in reverse chronological order as I look down the list.

Is this a bug? If so, please fix it. If not, what the reasoning? Thanks.

    Hello,

Yes, this sorting method is intentional. First, this is typically how banks process transactions for accounts on a given day: credits first, then debits. This is reflected in the ordering of the transactions. Second, Moneydance often doesn't know the specific minute that transactions were made, and then there are a few different times to chose from: when the transaction was made, when it has cleared at the bank, and when it is imported or entered into Moneydance. We typically don't know the first of those, sometimes know the second (depending on what information is included in the information a specific bank chooses to send), and only really know the third consistently (which isn't really meaningful for down to the minute sorting purposes). So, that's the reasoning behind the sorting scheme.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
