Unable to find my .md files on Dropbox
Hi,
I'm using Moneydance 2011 and trying to get my iPhone and iPad to sync using Dropbox without much success.
My Moneydance file was on Dropbox already, so not sure if that's part of the problem. It's only in a folder one-level deep, so not buried in a complicated file structure.
I've followed the instructions at http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/new-iphone-ipad-and-ipod-touch-app-... but when I get to step 12, the app says it can't find any files, so I get no files to select.
I've had a look on the forums, and I found mention of an invisible file that should be created when syncing is enabled (.moneydancesync) that I'm not seeing when viewing invisible files in the Finder – it's not at the top-level of my Dropbox nor in the folder with my .md file (I'm not sure where it should be created).
Any pointers on what I can try to get this working?
Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt,
Your Dropbox folder has to be named "Dropbox" and located in your home folder for Moneydance to be able to sync using it. Here are instructions to change the location of the folder, if it's not already in the necessary location:
https://www.dropbox.com/help/89/en
If it already in the proper location and named "Dropbox", or if you move it and it still doesn't work, please let us know and we'll continue to diagnose the problem!

Thanks Scott!
That was the problem – on my work laptop, our home directories are synchronised so I have to have my Dropbox in a sub-folder whose contents are excluded from that sync.
In the end, I got around this by putting a symlink (aliases didn't work) to my Dropbox folder in the "standard" location, rather than by moving it. So now iOS apps are all working fine now.
Many thanks,
Matt.
