Like everyone else I can not get MD to recognize my iphone. I have down loaded the extension. My question is this. When I open the app up on my iphone, there are these letters and numbers. What are they? I feel like I should be adding these numbers & letters someone inside MD on my Mac.

I really want this to work. that is the reason I made the switch, is because you guys were doing an iphone app.

Please help!!

Thanks
Jical

    Jical,

You will need to click "Add Device" in the screen you have shown. You will then be prompted to enter the key (series of letters and numbers) which is appearing on your iPhone. You can also check out of FAQ articles on the iPhone app which are available here. More details on installing and setting up the app are available in Chapter 16 of our user guide, located here.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

    Hi Jucal

i am sorry looking at the screenshot it is clear that you have clicked the add device button.

Here is a link to an article that lists a number of things you can check if you are getting that error message.

    Hello Ben

I really need someone's help. I am soooo disappointed over this. I still cannot get this app to work. My Iphone, MD and itunes are all up to-date. I've done the computer to computer. My computer and my iphone are on the same network I can see it in "settings on iphone"

I've deleted the app from my iphone and put a new one on it. I have no spaces in my name when I connect my phone to itunes.

I've followed the instructions that shows up inside the app on the iphone. But, still, when I click on "add device", I continue to get: "No devices running Moneydance were found"

What about inside MD "preference"? there is a setting called "network", is there anything inside there that I'm suppose to change?

I really want to get this to work. I'm starting to get disappointed. It doesn't help when I read others on there Mac, have gotten their's to work.

    Thanks

    Jical

    Hi Jical

Some users have reported that a file wall on their desktop was preventing the connection.

If you have a personal firewall set up on your desktop computer you may need to allow incoming connections to the Moneydance application. The instruction for doing this will vary depending on the Operating system and firewall being used. On mac:

    System Preferences>Security>Firewall>Advanced
    Uncheck "Block all incoming connections"
Add Moneydance Desktop application and "allow incoming connections"

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer
