... Delete a transaction directly on the iPad? NEVER MIND - I see that has been answered with a "swipe".

... Look at my Assets? (I have assets set up on my desktop and they are listed on the iPad, but tapping on a particular asset does nothing. The transaction screen remains blank other than the name of the asset showing up in the top bar.

... Change the frequency of syncs. (They come quite often - about every two minutes or so - and the transaction screen goes blank when they do, usually when I am looking for something -- annoying. Perhaps this is controlled by Dropbox?)

... Colorize my future transactions? (The way the desktop code highlights them in yellow.)

... Thank you enough for making the iPad App? (For free!, yet!!)

And here is another vote for carrying over Tags to the desktop. VOTE!

    Weird, I can't reproduce the assets issue. Can you confirm there are transactions within the sync date range in those accounts?

    Syncs happen whenever something changes, but I can't recreate the blanking screen thing. Can you send us a private email so we can get some private/console data from you?

    No colorizing future transactions yet, but I've attached the feature request ticket to this thread so it counts as a vote, as well as the request ticket for tags.

    And as for how to thank us- why by rating and reviewing the app, of course!

    Assets problem solved: Transactions are indeed well outside the sync date limits - I overlooked that in the Network Syncing Extension. Wouldn't have done any good even if I had noticed - my assets were recorded in Moneydance more than a year ago anyway, well beyond the 365 days offered in the configuration window.

    Blanking after frequent syncs: How do you define "whenever something changes"? I can turn on Moneydance in the iPad, and just look at it, changing nothing, not even touching the thing, and it goes on syncing all by itself every minute or so. And the transaction screen goes blank on the first sync. (Were I to tap on an account it would bring up the transactions properly, but then I wouldn't be "touching nothing".)

    Further data: I quit Moneydance on the desktop Mac, but the syncing went on unabated.

    Glad to set up a private e-mail -- to whom and what address? What do you need?

    What do you need me to send you to see what is going on with the blanking of the accounts window after every (really frequent) sync?

    Just to say I have seen the 'blanking' issue with transactions. I have the app on my iPhone and iPad. It's only the iPad thats affected. I've reproduced the affect by doing the following -:

    • If you open the iPad app and allow it to sync.

    • Select an account with a good number of transactions, the name of the account is noted at the top of the Transaction column.

    • Look at the time of the last sync.

    • Switch to another account without making a transaction change, scroll the Transactions. You might need to do this for a couple of accounts.

    • You will see the 'sync' begin again briefly - when this happens the focus from the selected account is lost.

    • Even though the 'sync' process has run the date of the last sync doesn't always update, as there's no changes to apply perhaps? Once this happens the title at the top of the Transaction list changes to 'My Finances' and the list is blank.

    Spending some more time with the iPad app, it seems this behaviour occurs for me when the iPad is in portrait orientation, if in landscape the 'blanking' issue doesn't occur; the random sync's do though.

    In fairness, the additional, seemingly extra sync's don't worry me at all, so long as the task you are undertaking isn't interupted.

    I'm using iPad 3 with current iOS installed.

    Strange, orientation didn't change things for me.

    More data: I went to Dropbox on the desktop and clicked on "Suspend Syncing". But the frequent (every two minutes or so) syncing, and blanking, continued on my iPad.

    Conclusion (?) : Presuming that Dropbox really did stop syncing from my desktop Mac, it would seem that the frequent syncing & blanking is being initiated from the iPad, even though I made no changes in any accounts. Nor did I even switch accounts as Simon described at 4:37 yesterday. Just left it alone.

    I've been watching my iPhone and have noted that the iPhone app also periodically sync's; I guess it's merely a routine check for any changes. If there's none to be applied it should do nothing. On the iPhone I don't see any evidence of screen issues during or following sync, it doesn't appear to affect the selection of the account and transaction list.

    jstackpo, what iPad and iOS version are you? I'm iPad 3 with 5.1.1 installed.

    We've fixed the screen blanking bug in the internal development build of the Moneydance app, and the fix will be in the next version. I don't have a timeline for the release yet, but we'll let you know as soon as it's out.

    It must be some kind of symapthetic magic, but the screen blanking has just gone away in my 5.1.1 version of the iPad app. Nothing I can remember doing except, possibly, I am using a bluetooth iMac keyboard to compose text rather than the built-in iPad "virtual" keyboard.
