I use categories with subcategories: e.g., Home:Utilities

When I look at a transaction on my iPad in the "Edit Transaction" window the category line shows ONLY the sub-category, i.e., Utilities, in my little example. And since I have "utilities" as a sub-cat for more than one top category, I don't know where I am.

This seems to be a bug, or an undocumented feature in need of fixing.

I just got here so I haven't tried to enter a new transaction with a subcategory on the iPad -- I'll let you know how it looks when the time comes.

Also none of my investment accounts show up on the iPad. But I suspect adding them to the app is another huge development project. No rush on my account.

Good news - bad news (but not too bad).

Bad first: When entering a new transaction on the iPad Moneydance and assigning it to a Category:Subcategory, only the subcategory appears on the screen, as above in the "Edit" screen.

Good News: When, after syncing, I look at the account on the Desktop Mac, the full Cat:SubCat shows up correctly for the transaction in question.

So the info is there in the iPad, it just isn't being displayed properly.

    Hi jstackpo,

I have filed a ticket with our ticketing system to have the developers look into the subcategory display issue that you've described.

And, unfortunately, the app doesn't yet support syncing or displaying the investment accounts, however our developers are aware of this and there is a ticket in our ticketing system to have this implemented.

Thanks for helping to improve Moneydance and please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

    Hi Scott,

Does the same situation apply to 'Loan' accounts?
