According to your logs, you have the Network Sync extension
installed, which could conflict with Moneydance's built-in Dropbox
syncing. Can you uninstall it by going to Extensions -> Manage
extensions, then scrolling down to the Network Sync extension and
clicking the "Remove" button? Then, go to File -> Syncing and
disable and re-enable Dropbox syncing from there. If that doesn't
work, can you check to see if your Dropbox folder matches the
location in the File -> Syncing window in Moneydance? You can
check its location using these instructions:

https://www.dropbox.com/help/89/en

If the locations don't match, I would suggest closing
Moneydance, then renaming or deleting (if the folder is empty
except for a .moneydancesync folder) the Dropbox folder that's
specified in the File -> Syncing window, then re-opening
Moneydance and going to File -> Syncing again and disabling and
re-enabling Dropbox syncing.

Please try that and then let us know if you're still having
issues with split transactions.

the file on my laptop which also has Dropbox synch enabled and then
the laptop started jumbling the splits and so did the iphone. So
now I have synch disabled on the laptop. Do you think that having
synch enabled on both could be the problem?

Do you have a different data set on the laptop, or are you
sharing the same data set between both computers (on your Dropbox
folder, possibly)? Are you using the Network Sync extension on your
Laptop too? Are both computers using the same Dropbox folder?

moneydance
file to the laptop using Chronosync. Until yesterday i was
using
network sync on both machines, but at your suggestion I eliminated
it
from both. Both computers use the same Dropbox folder on the
internet.
But each computer has its own local Dropbox folder. After the
splits
got jumbled yesterday I disabled Dropbox synching on the
laptop.

It may be best to only have Dropbox syncing on one computer with
your setup, so if that works for you I'd recommend sticking with
that.

Another alternative that might work better for you is to move
your Moneydance data set to your Dropbox folder and then open it
from each computer. Since the computers will be sharing the same
data set, it'll be identical on both computers and syncing should
work on both. Just be sure not to have the data set opened on both
computers at the same time to avoid file corruption. You can move
your data set using these instructions:
