Still having problems syncing between Moneydance 2015 and an Android phone

Thank you for your help earlier this year. At least some of the problems seem to have been resolved.

However I am still experiencing problems. I think its root cause is that in Moneydance the sync causes entering transactions to take so long that I end up turning off the sync. I try to remember to restart the sync and cause one to happen when I finish using Moneydance.

I have just reconciled some bank statements and noticed that I am losing transactions that I input on my phone.

I am using version 2015.5 (1225) of Moneydance.

Hi Anita,

According to the log you sent, Moneydance isn't directly connected to your Dropbox account, which sometimes works better than using the Dropbox folder on your computer. Can you verify, using these instructions:

https://www.dropbox.com/help/89/en

if your Dropbox folder is located at:

/Users/(yourusername)/Dropbox

If it is located there, can you try changing it to a different location on your computer (to within your Documents folder, for example), then try disabling and re-enabling Dropbox syncing again via File -> Syncing in Moneydance? You should be asked to give Moneydance permissions to access your Dropbox folder and the File -> Syncing window should say "Connected as: (Your Name)", rather than the location of the folder on your computer.

If it isn't located there, then can you check to see if you have a folder named Dropbox in your Home folder? On Mac OS X that'll be:

/Users/(yourusername)/Dropbox

and on Windows Vista and above it'll be:

C:\Users\\(yourusername)\\Dropbox

If that's not your Dropbox folder, can you either rename it or delete it (if it doesn't contain any of your data), then try disabling and re-enabling Dropbox syncing as I described above and see if that works for you?

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your help. However, I am still struggling. I moved my Dropbox
folder as instructed. It does seem to sync more quickly now, but over the
weekend I added a transaction for £64 using the Moneydance Android app.
Today after syncing I cannot see the transaction, either in the app or the
Moneydance application on my PC.

Please help; with this and the other support request I logged, about tags
and related reports, I am losing confidence in Moneydance 2015 and starting
to believe I should have stayed with Moneydance 2011 rather than upgrading.

Apologies for the email I sent earlier. Far from the transaction concerned
being lost, I had added it to the wrong account and have just found it.
