New version and some suggestions
First off, thanks for the new version of the iPhone app. The rounding problem seems to be resolved. At least the one I was having trouble with. I like the rolling balance and the new entry screen is great. Makes it very quick and easy to enter a new transaction.
I have a few suggestions.
It would be nice to have the same transaction sequence as in the main application. While the ending balance is correct, the intermediate balances are out of sync with the main application because the transaction sequence is different. So in some cases, the iPhone app could show a negative balance even though that never actually occurred.
Please shade or otherwise highlight future transactions and provide an option to show the current balance on the summary page instead of the ending balance.
Prefix the description with the cheque number if there is one.
Thanks again and I'll look forward to the next update.
Bob

Hi Bob
What is the sort order you have set in the desktop app? Do you have the account sorter by two fields such as date/amount?

Just a single sort on Date. I want to keep transactions in the order they occur.
Actually, I'd like to be able to drag and drop into the desired order. Mostly I want payments in the order that they occur, but usually I want deposits to appear first as most bank deposits are done first. Occasionally there's a deposit on a specific day that doesn't appear first.
However, this request has nothing to do with keeping the same order in the Mac app and the iPhone app.
Thanks
Bob

The sort sequence for transactions on the iPhone app is by data and then by amount. This puts the deposits first in decreasing order and then the payments in increasing order.
I agree It is not possible to get the desktop app sort by->Date/Amount to match this sequence. The desktop app can match the order within a particular day if you select right click and select sort by->Date/Amount and check the ascending box, but this puts the newest day at the bottom of the register. The iphone app has the newest day at the top of the register.
I have created a ticket for this issue and attached it to this discussion.

I see the sequence now. There's one thing that makes it somewhat confusing or non-standard. The transactions are in order of decreasing date. In other words, the latest date is at the top. So the sequence you point out actually runs the other way looking top down on the page.
So for example, For July 9 and 10 I have (amounts changed) as I read from top to bottom:
July 10 - Payment $50 Balance $930
July 10 - Payment $350 Balance $980
July 9 - Deposit $900 Balance $1330 (this deposit was actually the first transaction of July 9)
July 9 - Payment $45 Balance $430
July 9 - Payment $65 Balance $475
July 9 - Payment $250 Balance $540
July 8 - Payment $150 Balance $790
If the dates run backwards from top to bottom, then the payments should appear at the top of a date followed by deposits. Because otherwise the running balance can easily be negative. For example, if the $250 July 9 payments was $800. In other words, I'd expect to see the following:
July 10 - Payment $350 Balance $930
July 10 - Payment $50 Balance $1280
July 9 - Payment $250 Balance $1330
July 9 - Payment $65 Balance $1580
July 9 - Payment $45 Balance $1645
July 9 - Deposit $900 Balance $1690
July 8 - Payment $150 Balance $790

The sort order issue has been fixed in our internal build and will be included in the next release of the iPhone app. Hopefully that will be in the next couple of weeks.
